Rooted in Purpose
Ellie Bianca began with a deeply personal realization.
Years ago, while doing fieldwork in Chad, Dr. Evelyne found herself surrounded by beautiful wild mango trees heavy with fresh fruit. Never one to pass up perfectly ripe mangoes, she was introduced to a local family where the mother and children climbed the trees under the hot sun to harvest mangoes by hand.
Their strength, skill, and hard work stayed with her long after the moment passed.
But so did something else.
When it came time to pay, Dr. Evelyne instinctively handed the money to the woman who had done the work. Instead, she was told the payment had to be given to the father “as a sign of respect.”
That moment became impossible to forget.
It reflected something she had witnessed in many places around the world: women often carry the labour, the care, and the responsibility, while remaining unseen or undervalued.
Years later, that experience would help shape the foundation of Ellie Bianca, a Canadian skincare brand built not only around high performing natural skincare, but around creating opportunity, visibility, and economic empowerment for women.
Today, many of our ingredients are ethically sourced through partnerships that support women led cooperatives and communities across Africa.
Because beauty should never come at the expense of the people behind it.
