The Ellie Bianca Foundation is pleased to announce the:
Ellie Bianca Woman Scholarship
This program is a vision brought to life by Founder, Evelyne Nyairo, to encourage more single mothers to enroll and graduate from post-secondary studies. The selected recipient will receive one-time financial support and have the opportunity to share their story at the Ellie Bianca Women InPower Gala and other events throughout the year. This one-year scholarship is funded by a percentage of all Ellie Bianca product sales and support from community donors.
Kind to Women
In alignment with our fundamental pillar, Kind to Women, the scholarship was created to encourage more single mothers to enroll and graduate from post-secondary. According to Statistics Canada, only 24.5% of single mothers who work full time hold a university degree. Our mission is to increase this number by creating opportunities for women through education and business mentorship.
“This scholarship is so important to me because I became a single mother, in a new country, with no family around. I had to struggle through to complete my studies, while working full time for two years. Education is a tremendous obstacle for single mothers trying to make a career for themselves. We’re excited to read the inspiring stories of women across Canada, and we look forward to selecting a deserving winner.” - Evelyne Nyairo, Founder
Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today - Malcolm X
